Beijing has firmly refuted assertions by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding ongoing trade negotiations between China and the United States. On April 24, Chinese officials stated no such discussions had taken place, contradicting Trump’s repeated suggestions of engagement.

A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce, He Yadong, dismissed claims about progress in trade talks as "groundless" and lacking factual basis. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed this position, with spokesperson Guo Jiakun confirming no consultations or agreements on tariffs had occurred.

The rebuke comes amid heightened global economic uncertainty, though cryptocurrency markets have shown resilience to geopolitical tensions in recent years. Digital assets continue to demonstrate their characteristic decoupling from traditional market movements during periods of international discord.
